Inbox

Overview#

Inbox sits at the top of your sidebar and holds every notification for the workspace you are in. The list is on the left, and the record a notification points at opens beside it. An inbox with nothing left in it reads All clear.

Keyboard#

J or ↓ moves down the list, K or ↑ moves up.

Enter or O opens the notification you are on.

M marks it read, or unread if it was read already.

Backspace deletes it. Shift Backspace deletes every read notification at once.

Mouse#

• Click a row to open it beside the list
• Right-click a row for Mark as read, Delete notification, Snooze, Remind me and Copy
• Filter and Display options sit above the list
• More actions at the top right holds the bulk actions

Basics#

What reaches your inbox#

You hear about the jobs, candidates and applications you are subscribed to. Attia stays quiet about your own actions, and activity inside a private team reaches only that team's members. The Notifications article covers how a subscription starts.

Three buttons in an application's header decide the rest. The star favorites it. The bell with a plus is Subscribe to updates, and it turns into Unsubscribe from updates once you follow the application. The plain bell is Mute notifications, which silences the application without dropping any subscription you hold. A mute wins over a subscription, so a muted application stays quiet even while you follow it. My Applications > Subscribed lists the applications you follow.

Read and delete#

Open a notification and the record it points at loads beside the list. On a narrow screen the pane takes the whole width, and the back arrow returns you to the list.

Deleting one notification leaves an Undo button in the toast that follows.

More actions holds four bulk actions: Mark all as read, Delete all, Delete all read, and Delete all for completed applications. Delete all and Delete all read ask you to confirm first and cannot be undone. Delete all for completed applications runs straight away.

Snooze and remind me#

Snooze hides a notification until a time you pick and brings it back then. Remind me leaves the notification where it is and sends you a fresh one later. Both offer the same four times, each shown with the date and time it lands on: An hour from now, Tomorrow, Next week and A month from now.

Attia sweeps for due snoozes and reminders every five minutes, so one can arrive a few minutes after the time you picked.

Filter the list#

Filter narrows the list on four things:

• Notification type: Reminders, Comments, New applications, Application status changes, Assigned to me, Mentions, Other activity
• Target: Applications, Candidates, Jobs, Workspace
• Status: Open, Completed, Canceled
• Read state: Unread, Read

A filter that matches nothing shows No notifications match filters. That is a filter to clear, not an empty inbox.

Display options#

Display options sets Ordering to Newest, Oldest or Priority, and carries three switches: Show snoozed, Show read and Show unread first. Under Display properties, ID and Status and icon turn those parts of each row on and off.
